Random Panic Attacks Can be Reminder Attacks

There are a few various types of panic attacks, and they will affect people in different ways based off of the situation that they are in at certain times.

Random Panic Attacks:

Random panic attacks seem to come out of the blue so to speak, with no warning or previous symptoms a person finds themselves right in the middle of a full blown panic attack.  Most times these are the types of panic attack that happen as an individual incident, not on a regular basis.  Typically these attacks happen with in a few minutes time or less and resolve themselves before you know it. If you train yourself to quickly handle this situation you will have no trouble getting through it.
Situational Panic Attacks:

Situational panic attacks more often than not occur because of something going on that a person is directly involved in. Panic attacks that occur while flying on an airplane, stressful situations at work with co-workers, or certain social situations while you are out in public with friends or a social event are all situational.  Had that person not been in that particular situation at that specific time they probably would have never experienced the anxiety attack.  Situational panic attacks are a more severe case than the random attack, because they do have the potential to happen more often and also depending on the heightened level of anxiety these attacks can be much harder bring to come to a conclusion.

Reminder Panic Attacks:

Reminder panic attacks occur when a person finds themselves in the same situation as when they have previously had a panic attack or exposed to a traumatic situation.  Take for example, if someone had a panic attack in an automobile a year ago because they got stuck in a terrible snow storm, they may find themselves having another attack whenever the same situation arises even if the storm is not nearly as furious.

But not because there was anything wrong with this automobile—because they were continually reminded in their mind of the horrible adventure they had last time.  Reminder panic attacks can be most times easy to handle and avoid if people are able to focus in on what is around them and talk themselves out of the traumatic situation.

Because everyone is different and with all the various situations that people can be in it is hard to say exactly which type of attack will behave in a certain way.  If someone finds themselves experiencing more than two panic attacks they should start seeking treatment from a trained professional.  All panic attacks have the potential to get worse when left untreated.

Untreated panic attacks can cause much physical pain and stress. When the signs of an anxiety attack start to happen you should know what to do to stop them as soon as possible. Train yourself to know when your particular attacks may happen and what causes them. Stress comes from fear so if your mind has already been made aware of a certain situation ahead of time then the stress level can be less.
